Gunner, you and I will be starting a game soon(ish) I assume we will agree to use the new system?

Quote above from Moopere on another topic.

With reference to the new player rating system....Yes Moopere I'd like to use this new idea in our next game.

I presume we will start at zero, zero, and let the ratings go whever the battle results lead them to go.

Yes, sounds like the right idea to me.

Gunner,

Any thoughts on which faction you want to command?

M.

All I know for sure is : it won't be Spain, ha.

I was thinking maybe the Ots......let me have a close look at the prices over the weekend and I'll make a firm decision then.

My "best" CB faction is Prussia, but I'd like to try one I've not used before so I will give it some thought.

I am going to take a risk and try the Ottermans out in CB.....I suspect they are a lot better than I first thought when they arrived. I have tried them several time in the lobby and they seem the preform well enough, better than some of the "weaker" factions for sure.

Yes, a lot of folks make bad assumptions about the Ottomans but I've played them any number of times and found them quite solid. They are a bit of a melee faction however, though perhaps not so much as say Russians.

I should swap my choice of faction in DougieJ's game and play Russians here, it would be a classic Russia / Turkey campaign.

I'll have a chat with Dougie about this, see what he thinks.

Gunner,

A cut n paste from the Moo v Dougie game but equally valid here:

==================

As we're about to make a start on this, I guess its time for us to negotiate over the NTW2 rules to be used during tactical phases. I'm partial to MRS but am not inflexible. Please let me know your thoughts.

Moopere

Known common rules listed here: http://nwg.freeforums.org/lets-list-the ... -t427.html

The main thing that I'm concerned about is that there be NO shooting blocks and NO embedded artillery, the rest, I'm not too bothered about one way or the other.

Having said that, if you allow the other stuff, it can lead to some odd things happening - but it will be the same for both players so should be ok.

We can use NSR if you prefer, but, like you, I am personally mainly concerned with shooting blocks and artillery embedding....everything else I can live with.

Looks ok to me, I will update the wiki map now.

Please check the map and report any errors in the set up asap, hopefully there are none !.

If all ok it's ready for you to make the first move.

Hi Gunner,

We're still several moves away from any battlefield action but it looks to me that our available resolution times are likely to be Saturday and/or Sunday 0800GMT-0900GMT (to start a game) by negotiation - you would know that the UK is currently on DST which puts you at GMT+1 I'm guessing.

http://corps-battles.wikispaces.com/player+timezones

Sounds ok to me.

It probably won't matter to most folks close to GMT, but for those with a decent offset, remember that the days of the week listed are GMT as are the times. So, for me at GMT+8, I have to remember that 2000 Friday GMT is actually 0400 Saturday AWST in the west of Australia.

Cheers, M.
