Hello Moopere, now that MC has joined the Lordz to work on ntw3, will you still be kicking on with a CB style Empire version ?.

Firstly, let me publicly congratulate Mooncabbage on his new appointment as Lord Mooncabbage.

As for a eCB version of the NBG, yes, there is a lot of activity behind the scenes which its too early for me to elaborate on. Mooncabbage is prodigious and capable of producing huge volumes of quality content very quickly. I'd be lying to give anyone the impression that I'm doing much more than adding words of encouragement to the effort at this stage.

Having said that, I'm extremely excited about the near term possibilities. We can expect the ETW version of CB to be far more immersive and historically 'sensible' than the NTW2 CB variation was or could ever have been.

Stay tuned men, not too long to wait now.

Best regards, M.

Is this Moon still working, or you having taken it over ?.....will it be hosted on the TW as has been so far, OR, if your taking over, will it move here to the nwg site ?.

I can't say too much because its not released and, unlike CB, its not my work. However, rest assured that it will be maintained once Moon transfers his efforts to NTW3.

It will certainly be hosted in several places, NWG being one via a link to the old CB wiki site.

Cheers, M.

Moopere, how many models do you expect to have in a 2v2 battle ?.....unless todays CA patch makes a big difference, I don't think there are many that will be able to use a CB version of Empire.

Every night there are complants about lag with large scale in 3v3s.

Its uncertain Gun. I'm downloading the patch right now as we speak. Certainly CA has made a big deal about the FPS increases so we can only hope.

As I might have mentioned before though, mostly the original CB games played were 1v1 - if I can manage to get it working in ETW with say 8000-9000 models and have playable frame rates I'll be happy enough.

Once the modding tools arrive perhaps we'll get some clarity on whats possible as far a changes to the game that might improve FPS, for instance, increasing the quality of the sprites and using them for LOD 2, 3 and 4 which should theoretically make a very substantial difference.

Ultimately, 3v3 or 4v4 games with full size armies are probably not going to be ETW|CB's strong suit, there would be just too many men on the field and the maps are always going to be too small I think.

Command games with seriously limited money might be possible, we'll have to see how the game develops with further CA patches.

Cheers, M.

I used to play without too much lag, but after the patch yesterday it seems to play a LOT better, as far as lag is concerned, so maybe a CB version has a chance after all.

I have to say, I really do like the Ultra size units playing the NB mod, but most others used to say "too much lag"....maybe not now, needs some more MP games to find out for sure.

Its just the beginning Ank, but thanks for noticing. There is a _lot_ more content to be put up and I'm just trying to get enough hours left in my day to do the work.

Cheers, M.
