We've all been feverishly having some fun with ETW for a few weeks now and the subject of rules raises its unwanted but necessary head in the community once more.

LL of the [N] clan has put pen to paper and made some suggestions for a unified community rules set and I'll present these as option #1, there are also some variations around this proposal which NWG members may prefer. Have you vote and be heard!

Well over 200 members on the nwg stream group and 6 votes !.......I should be used to this by now, but I'am still constantly surprised at why people don't want to take 5 seconds to vote.

88 views of this thread alone as of me looking this afternoon. Anyway, not to worry, still a few days left.

Yep a pretty poor show so far.
Anyway I'm of to make a few phone calls, ring some doorbells and offer a free bus ride to the polling station for anybody willing to vote for option 1

We've had this discussion before and pondered the possibility that a lot of folks simply don't care either way and are ultimately going to be happy to follow the trail forged by the few (who vote) that -do- care.

Best regards, M.

people prefer to stay as -guest- while visiting the forum, that may be the reason of (6) votes i guess. Must be tiring to register or login :D

Yes, I believe this is true. If you look on any particular day there are several dozen users who are 'guests' with a somewhat smaller number of registered users.

Thats ok though, its important that everyone at least has the opportunity to vote on things should they wish to do so. No-one can complain later that the process was not open and fair.

Regards, M.

Ok folks, the inaugural ETW rules poll is now closed, thanks to all who voted. By a very slim margin we have this option as the most preferred:

Quote:
2) No fixed artillery, no spikes

We should now put this up on the NWG wiki as well as here to indicate the preferred (for now) NWG rules.

However, we should not lose sight of the fact that some new mods that have matured even during the running of this poll have possibly made even these rules obsolete.....

Nevertheless, the rules such as they are are for use in standard (vanilla) ETW games. As always, the community can be sampled for its opinion again, even on the same question, at a later time. Its always been the case that peoples perspectives change on the matter of rules given the passing of time.

Regards,
Moopere
