One of the things that I see that can possibly annoy the veteran players is excessive set up time. How long is considered reasonable ?

It tends to vary quite a bit depending on experience with the game, experience with the specific map and even experience with the team you are on.

If you have played a few games, know the map and know your team mates probably 2ish minutes is reasonable.

After 5 minutes things can get a bit tedious, but don't let impatient people get you down. If anyone actually tells (or yells) you to "hurry up" they are probably one of those folks who like massive RTW charge type games and can't wait to start the game so they can finish the game.

Take as much time as you need is my motto, but for mine, about 2 minutes or less is probably courteous.

Cheers, M.

Fair question, it can sometimes take up to 5 minutes or so.....

After you select your 20 units if you hit the save pre-set button that can save a lot of time, as next time you pick that army you can select all 20 units with one click and your ready to go.

Of course you can make as many set ups as you wish for each faction and have them ready....In theory if everyone did that a game could be ready to go in 30 seconds !.

The busy time was about 8pm - midnight uk time, but many people are now using Empire, so it's not as busy as it was a few weeks ago.

If you would like a CB game please either post here or over at NBC Empire "meeting room" there is a group of us who we be very pleased to have some CB games with you - as a change form Empire.
