Orders page : http://ntw2.wikispaces.com/G10_SvG24_ORDERS
Map page : http://ntw2.wikispaces.com/G10_SvG24_MAP
History page : http://ntw2.wikispaces.com/G10_SvG24_HISTORY
Score page : http://ntw2.wikispaces.com/G10_SvG24_SCORE

The pages are done, I have to do a re-check but I think all is ok.

simpson you can now PM with with your starting deployment, please see here : http://ntw2.wikispaces.com/HowToPlay section one and two.

You have 500,000 florins with a maximum of 20k to a formation and a maximum of 40k per grid....you start anywhere in the TOP five rows. Formations may be any size but it's generally best in 10k, 15k or 20k size.

Thanks M, as you know it's all copy and paste so the odd thing might slip though the net.....deployment should be done today, or tomorrow, and then the march to contact can begin.

The umpire is ok at the moment, should be no probkem over the winter, with much less golf to take up my time.

Very good to see another game up and running. Good luck to both Simpson and Gunner. May your powder always be dry and your encounters gentlemanly.

I'm looking forward to watching your replays Gents. The big two powers of the day, France and Britain.

Best regards,
Moopere

The deployment is complete, all is now ready for the French to march forward.

A quick reminder of a few important basics, as simpson is new to CB :

One turn is a total of 80k worth of movement.

Each formation may move 2 grids.

If you end more than one grid away from a City or supply line the formation will be out of supply (OOS).

Any formation that starts it's turn OOS cost's double for movement, so a 20k formation that moves two grids will use 40k of movement.

What does the green tick in the orders section mean Gunner? I've not seen that before.

Cheers, M.

The green thicks are those place were the players (except the umpire) can write somethings.

We, old fellows, known already that but a new player may be not.

Cheers, gp.

Yes, GP has it correct, a little extra help for simpson, who is new to CB....I'm trying to avoid a repeat of that nasty corrupted page that happened not so long ago.

So the first battle has been fought. I'm looking forward to watching the replay.

Can you guys who played give me your impressions of the factions? This is, I think, the first time that Britain has been used, and I'm almost completely certain its the first British/French faceoff. I notice that both of you managed to field very large numbers of troops (near 4000 a piece!) which surprises me a bit, particularly for the British....large numbers of militia in there?

How did the 2K extra for attacking work out?

Regards,
Moo

The Brits had 1 General, 3 Militia (if I remember correctly), 2 Rifles, 2 Lights, lots of line, 1 arty, 1 rocket !, 1 BIG Cav, and 2 or 3 smaller ones, BUT, remember the Brits did have 14k....it will be very hard for the Brits when they only have 9-11k which no doubt woll happen at some stage - soon.

The extra 2k made a big difference to the Brits, it's a perfect size "extra", not too much to make it silly, not too little to make it pointless.....attackers need to get into position to be able to use this extra 2k, but of course it is then lost from where ever it came from, so making that formation 2k weaker !......if I say so myself this is one of my better idea's !.

I suspect this is going to be a very hard Campaign for me, like the one against Dougie, as simpson did really well for having played so few games, he is not going to get any worse, only better, which means I may be in serious trouble soon.

The Brits have broken out into the French rear area's - but not in any great strenght, so they may be quickly destroyed, but then again, the French Capital may be in danger......

Name Start - men men lost Remain left at end - men Florins lost at 3 per man
g24 4028 1311 2717 3,933
s 3976 1900 2076 5,700

Replay is here http://uploading.com/files/NI4VTVIH/Replaysg12.rpy.html

I moved to the right and tried to avoid the woods as much as possible,,,,,,with THREE rocket batteries the French gunners soon left their guns !......the Rifles (as normal) blasted a gap in the French line and a few INF charges saw the Brits win the day, without a single Cavalry unit on the field....very risky, not sure I'll be doing that again.

Worth a watch.
