If we're all really lucky the next Lordz update is due sometime soon, maybe even before New Year - that would be excelent. I have no information here, it's just my guess so I may be wrong, but I hope not.

I wonder if that will be the last one or if there's something else planned for the new year of 2008 ?.

With ETW and LG on the way it does ask the question of : Will they both do the job the Lordz have done so well over the last few years leaving ntw2 on the sidelines OR will they not quite replace the game we all like so much - well known game engine problems excepted !.

I had heard that the Patch was due for late November.

The problem is that it is now very late November. Or Perhaps, it was meant Late November 2008.

LG is likely to be different enough that many loyal NTW2 players might stay with it. It does offer a rather fast paced experience that can be picked up for 30 minutes to an hour then put back down again.

My guess is that ETW will logically replace NTW2 however unless CA really do something completely silly with the game which seems unlikely as they appear to know who their public are and how to provide them enough incentive to keep buying product. Its not at all clear to me how far away ETW really is though. Could be Christmas 2008 for all I know, which means that NTW2 is still likely to have a fair lifespan yet.

Personally speaking, unless LG has a superb AI script which I've yet to see with any computer game ever, if multiplayer/campaign or community size restrictions are apparent I'll likely stay with NTW2 for human versus human encounters (the best encounters!).

The current http://ntw2.wikispaces.com for instance offers a very interesting linked battle/campaign type experience which, if not translatable or replaceable with something LG centric might well keep me with NTW2 a lot longer than I expected.

Same here, IF LG is not able to take ntw2's place there. Might do, might not do. Either way the wiki "trying to out wit the other player" is just top class, then when you think you have you need to prove it with the battle to see if your right or wrong !.

Still no update, lots of chat on the Lordz forum, it's become a bit of a mystery....many stories floating about.

The Grogs have stopped playing till it arrives. Some talk about bp being removed - or not.

Will still have pleanty of time to fool around with it before LG arrives as it's just started the second round of testing - still a way to go yet I'd say.

See ETW topic for a possible release date of 30/5/08 - as per advert on Play.com. I wonder if LG will be around by then, will be just our luck if they get released at the same time, arghhhhhhh.

I see Meg is getting the new map pack ready, so hopefully not much longer.....................I wonder if it was delayed by BDC not being around - not seen him for a looooooooooong time.

Unless it appears today or tomorrow, I'm gonna miss the new update as I'm away for a month......damn, I'll be the last regular long term player to get it uploaded.

Do you think they held it back till I returned, hehehe, I don't think so !.

Still, by all accounts it won't be too much longer and there's an interesting comment from bdc :

I think with the next release there will be a few more interesting possibilities, but it would be up to the community to make use of them, if they found it interesting enough that is

I wonder what that can be ?.

Seriously, I reckon its the addition of the Turks. Its the potential for an EiA link in. After this addition we'll have Britain, France, Prussia, Austria, Turkey, Spain and Russia - the 'big seven' which are absolutely required for any group wanting to do the EiA thing.

Sure doesn't hurt to also have Sweden and the Italians (Kingdom of Naples), the Dutch and Brunswick - any of whom could be bought in to fight on behalf of their own minor power in EiA or could fairly easily substitute for any of the other minor powers in europe.

I really think this is it. I wouldn't be surprised to see BP gone as its pretty clearly the source of the crashing problem, but this would be a tweak and I doubt it would provoke a comment from BDC as you quote above.

Regards, M.

You seem very sure about this - I'm nothing like so sure, but then again I have no idea what else it could be so your perhaps right.

I'm not sure at all heh, but I can't imagine what else BDC could be talking about? At this late stage in the modding life of RTW its pretty hard to believe that hitherto unknown 'fixes' relevant to NTW2 have suddenly been found....like limiting shooting to the front 2 ranks for instance...

But heck, I'm a complete novice and really don't know what I'm talking about :)

Regards,
Moopere
