In my humble opinion we'd do just as well to cover this situation as an existing part of the NWG
This was my first thought as well, but.......

otherwise we just divide and subdivide further an already small community.
That's already happened - if someone has the grogs mod, and that's what they want to use, they want to be able to arrange games using that with others who have it.
Frog and Conq have both said roughly the same thing, and I believe they have a very good point.

If we keep the mods that different NWG members use visible by talking about them here and also over at the Steam end then I suspect we're far more likely to inform and gather new players.
Could be, but nwg has over 250 members, most of who don't even play Empire MP as far as I can tell, and most of who never use the chat room.

However, if you are worrying a bit about just confusing the larger membership base with a 'beta' mod, perhaps its the right thing to do after all.
Confusing, yes, it may be....people want to know how they can get a MP game, if they log into the nwg chat room, and no one else there is using the mod they have - it's not working very well.
Sooner or later the old ntw2 community will switch to this as it's so much better than the standard......so it may sort it's self out as time time takes it's course.
The other thing would be for nwg to RECOMMEND the grogs mod, and encourage all nwg members to use it....but that's not so easy as it sounds.
