THIS POST ONLY APPLIES IF THE GROG MOD IS DEAD.
........................................................
This is for Moopere really......

I posted this on the grogs TW forum post :
Quote:
We need CONFIRMATION that JC is still interested in the grog mod, I hope so. But if not, then I would suggest that a new start be made together with a new name as well.....how about Napoleonc Battles Mod (NBM).

IF they have finished with it I think a whole new start is needed.......as Moopere is the one here with the best know how and expierence I would suggest he become the "team leader" and we use the nwg site to make somethng happen IF the grog mod is dead.

Moopere, would you be prepared to do this ?. My only worry is a CB version may not be as good with Empire as ntw2 because of the pc spec's requird, also it would have to be on a 4v4 map and that has major problems, no AI General allowed ?.

I can only offer help testing in the same way as I did with CB.

Has anyone seen or spoke to any of the other Grogs? Perhaps JC is simply away on a holiday or something? I have noticed that none of the "patch pack" mods work, not only the Grogs one. Its like we are all holding our breath waiting for some magic from CA ... yet there is no word from them at all as to when (or even -if-) mod packs will ever work for MP play.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Gunner! Honestly though, there is no way I have enough time to lead a team of this type. I have contacted Mooncabbage over at the TWC to see if any collaboration might be possible, but a good comprehensive mod needs an energetic team leader with a lot of free time - thats not me right now I'm afraid.

Mind that I -do- still intend to produce a CB version of ETW as well as some final tweaks to the legacy CB game. CB can barely be called a mod however, its really a collection of tweaks and I can manage this.

Maybe. Too early to tell. I'd be happy enough if ECB could be made to work for 1v1 MP. 99.9% of all CB battles ever fought were 1v1 after all. 2v2 or even 3v3 games are great of course, but 3v3 is a dream that even CB based upon NTW2 never achieved (due to PC specs) and ECB could never hope to succeed at I fear. I hold some considerable hope for the possibilities of eventually finding a way to make ECB work for 2v2 (limiting textures? Continued CA improvements?)

I don't know what you mean by this?? I've played on the 4v4 map with 3 AI generals, does this not work when 2 human players are present?

Its a good thought though Gun, ECB will come to pass, but I'm not sure its an idea with enough support to supplant something closer to company level as the Grogs original mod was. Time will tell I guess.

M.

Ahhhh, I clearly mis-understood you post over at TW......I got the impression you had given up on ECB and was offerring to help with the grogs mod instead.

Two bits of good news today then, ECB is still happening and CA announce a new MP update, great stuff - at last !.

I find this a tempting thought I must say and you can see this easily by the nature of my post at TWC (as you have). However, I'd come into serious conflict with the rest of the team I fear as I have a definite plan and a serious goal which is outside the apparent scope of the current skirmish/company mod.

Cheers, M.
