Folks,

ETW related DLC as of patch 1.5:

- Elite Units of the West - US$3.95
- Warpath Campaign along with 5 North American Indian Nations (MP playable so I'm told) - US$9.99
- Special Forces - US$2.95 (9 units in total, the 6 SF units + the 3 region based units)

Smart marketing eh? Buying the lot will mean the game cost you something like 49.99 + 9.99 + 3.95 + 2.95 = US$66.88, yet, because each bit of extra content is about the price of a burger or a cup of coffee I bet the takeup is massive.

Accepting the DRM laden steam delivery system was a big personal step for me. I was and still am very wary of such potentially rights limiting schemes ... yet, now I'm here, having bitten the bullet and accepted it (by way of parting with my cash) and I'm almost thinking "stuff it, just buy the extra good stuff". For less than AU$10.00 australian dollars including credit card charge I'll have the SF and EUTW units.

Hows everyone feeling? Are we beaten into submission and acceptance yet or is it just me?

Moopere

We'll i haven't bought anything over steam, I got the Special Forces with the disc at release, which costed me $110 Australian dollars at EB games, (Aussies will know what i am talking about). I hope NTW isn't that much, there has been rumors going around Sega that it will be about $60 Australian dollars. I hope so!

Yeah, I paid 99.95 for the standard version from EB. I knew it was a rip, but I had to have it on the first day - geez, looking back now .. what a disappointment it was. I had a kickass PC system, or so I thought, yet I could barely play it.

Still, that was then, now is different, 1.5 patch version is about where I expected the game to be in March, its got the normal amount of TW silliness inside it but overall, not terrible, not terrible at all.

Regards,

M.

I've not bought any add ons, and won't be, if it had been a better game then I may have done but I don't approve of this type of thing......but if it was good enough, I may paid the price.....as it is I've no interest in the SP campaign so it's not worth playing anything for extra stuff.

I haven't bought any add ons either, and i must admit they have offered nothing to even tempt me as yet.
Never say never but at the moment my resolve is not be tested at all. :D

CA is an Australian company, so how come you guys down under are paying so much for your ETW games ??

I paid here in blighty about 28 pounds roughly 50 Aussie dollars.
