Fantastic, I've not played it yet but the Lordz have done much the same thing I suggested a long time ago : http://forum.thelordz.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=9798

and took out bp (to stop the crash) and increased all the shooting stats, looking forward to this - should work a treat.

I hope that the Lords will soon find a way to stop the crash, many players have left this wanderful game for this reason !

I think they have, it was 99% certain that it was bp bullet thing, and that's now taken out.

Some things I've seen already :

Generally Artillery has been made more expensive.
Generally Line Infantry have been made cheaper.
All shooting stats have gone up - from say 10 to 15.

Looks great to me so far......those lobby games are going to feel a little different for a while I suspect.

Excellent news!! The lobby will be busy tonight I bet, unfortunately an unforeseen problem at work has delayed my return home and I'll not get to finish anything this evening nor even play a game !! Waaaaa

Look forward to reading everyones comments tomorrow.

The post on the Lordz site today says that they have removed the "BP" quality from infantry troops. I am confident that this will cure 90% of the crashing and freezing we are seeing today. Thank goodness.

Can't wait to have a game!

Same here M unforeseen (wife not on late shift and at home aaarrrggghh!! ) Checked into lobby and about 12 or 14 players there (about 7.30pm) thought there would have been more but I suppose everyman and his dog have been downloading tonight. Damn!! the wife is babbling on about quality time together tonight, very inconsiderate of her.

Looks great from what I've seen so far though.

Ha, yes it seems fine, funny thing, I had a ctd which never normally happens, but no freeze in a 3v3 game.....so thats good news.

Had a game with the most kills ever tonight (2300+) but just as I hit the save replay key, crash - the host left.........and the copy / paste copied half a black screen and half the desktop screen......arghhh.

Yeah, it can still happen. Both the Crash To Desktop (CTD for onlookers) and the Big Freeze, but its far reduced.

In fact, one wonders if the very few crashes we get now are -still- due to the fact the Body Piercing (BP) is still turned on for artillery....no way you can turn it off for arty as it just won't work properly and if crashes are less than 5% I'll be happy enough.

Yesterday I played 7 games, 4 finished well, including a 2v2 with enormous unity made with gunner, 3 have not crashed on the desk but could not finish them. I think that the time for fighting has decreased !
I have to say that often the fault of the crash is also the fault of single player.
Greetings!

Arghhhh, the old player pc connections problems I guess, it's a reason I like the 2v2 games best, only 4 pc's to woory about and not 6 of them.

Yes, I completely agree with this.

I'm digging right into the new stats file now as Corps-Battles is prepared for its v2.0 release (http://corps-battles.wikispaces.com). Something interesting thats happened which took me a while to notice is that the 'lethality' factor for melee has been improved across the board by a tiny amount.

This will have the effect of making melee generally more deadly, causing melee to be decided more quickly. I wonder if this will have an effect on Fire in Melee? If more guys are getting killed in a shorter amount of time then its probable that the morale shock value will be higher. I'll be quite interested to see if folks notice a marked change in the occurrence of FiM.

Regards, M.

I think the unit prices of artillery and infantry make no real difference.

An example :

Before update : I take 4x12 pdr and 8 Line, total cost was 4x600 and 8x400 making 5600 florins for those 12 units, the other 8 could be anything.

Now after the update : I take the same 8 Line and 4 artillery and the cost is the same as the artillery are 400 florins more (+100x4 each), but the Line is 400 florins less (-50x8 each) so overall there's no change.

So in my average army I will still get the 4x12 pdrs in my 20 units without having spent any extra money overall.

If the idea was to make artillery more expensive so have more less of it in the line up it won't work.
