Since the patch i cant change any graphic settings in options, its the same for Gunner24.
What about the rest of you guys ??
Sounds suspiciously like another CA patch mess up

I couldn't change _any_ settings to begin with. Had to remove all my mods and delete _all_ scripts including the preferences one, then do a 'check cache validity' thing. After that it all worked.

O M G, what a shambles, I was lucky, I had changed my seetings about a day before the 1.4 patch, so I don't need to change them now.

Its worth doing the validity check mates because there are new super fabulous options, for instance, you can specify how many sound channels to use, how much RAM they chew up and whether they should be cached or not. Well worth the effort.

Moopere when you do your validity check a new preference script is created ?? or did you save the old one ?
And what does Cached mean ??

I'm at a lose to understand CA, how are we to know this stuff ?......If it were not for Moopere how would we ever know what the hell CA are doing !.......I'm this close (about a couple of mm) away from un-installing Empire, it's sheer madness.

I thought it was an auto update !.

I didn't save anything, deleted all the scripts and mods. When you start a game a new preferences file is created for you - but you need to do the validity check, I initially tried simply deleting mods and scripts but this didn't work. After the validity check all was well and ETW is working pretty well now.

Strange but it didn't work for me

I removed all mods,
I removed all script files,
I went into my games,
Right clicked ETW,
Went into properties,
Went into local files,
Ran verify integrity of game cache,

No new preference script file was created,
I have the new Sound options but i had them after the patch anyway i think.
I still cannot make any options changes.

Tried it twice but no joy.

Edit, hang on I may have just seen my error, i need to start the game after running verify integrity of game cache,
I have been putting my saved script file back in, stupid boy

Well it just wouldn't be me if i got it right first time

I was thinking the new Preference script would be created by running the integrity thing, and when there was not one there i was putting the old one back in
Off course its running the game that will create the new Pref script.

To be fair on CA guys, some of this problem is created by ourselves. If we never modded or fiddled with our installs at all then mostly these sorts of problems wouldn't appear

Not sure why but i thought i would just check that i can still change settings in options today.
Must be a sixth sense or something anyway i am back to square one, once again i can not change anything,
Wonder if its anything to do with having any mod packs in data ??

Its been reported to be linked with 3rd party (mod) .loc files but usually older ones. You don't have any old ones from other mods floating about in the data directory do you?

No mate, no old mod files floating about, i now have the latest map pack and loc file and thats it,
Mind you i think the Lordz map Loc file is a pre patch file that was found to still work and may not have been changed ???
