Heh ;) Wasn't easy

Would you please make this list a topic of it's own, and sticky it - like on the Lordz, or it will get lost and never updated, thanks.

Done.

I'm starting to think we need to get a lot of these maps amended, and unless someone (me ?) gets on and does it, they will never get done......I'm tempted to start work on this soon, as it does not need much work to make some "silly" maps into very good maps.

I'd guess we have at least 20 or so maps that could be vastly improved with only a few minutes work on each....it seems daft to me to have all these maps sitting around not being used just for the sake of a few hours work......

An example is my MARSH map, which was no use at all, now it's a great map to play, and it only took 10 minutes work to change it.

Its hard not to agree. But its a touchy subject which will need proper care. I guess the first step, really, is to identify the maps which need work. I'm not sure how easy it will be to get in contact with authors but certainly it would seem logical to identify the maps which could be improved.

I had a brainwave.....there is NO need to amend the exsisting maps at all....please see :

http://rapidshare.com/files/140002576/Maps_v2.rar.html

This is a VERSION 2 of the CamdenVillage map.

The original is UNTOUCHED and is the same as it ever was.

The above link is a NEW version 2 of the old map, with the water taken out, so the left hand side (attacker) can be used.

All that is needed is to download this file, move it into into the maps folder, and you then have TWO versions of the same map - either can be used.

This is a TEST only, but I see no reason why this will not work.

If we try to get many people involved with this, it will never happen !.

Its not a bad compromise solution. In my perfect world though (heh) I'd really like to see maps with issues removed in favour of maps without issues.

However, your proposition would certainly work well for getting a solution out there quickly!

Moops

At least this way we don't have to worry about getting any permissions from map makers.

I can get on and get it done....then it's up to people to either want to NOT keep playing the dodgy maps, OR, they can do a simple download and put the new "improved" maps into the maps folder.

I don't see any easier way of dealing with this.

This map is "artillery bugged" with artillery movement impossible in certain places....I don't know how to fix this, or I would have done a v2 map as I did for many other "problem" maps.
